At Humanitarian Hub for Community Impact Affinity (CIA), we believe in the power of collective action to bring about meaningful change. Our mission is to empower communities by providing resources, support, and opportunities for growth. Together, we can build a brighter future for everyone.
CIA is a Transnational Neutral Non-Governmental Organization Dedicated to Championing UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Nigeria and beyond.
CIA holds Special Accreditation by the United Nations General Assembly for the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development. And also holds UN Special Accreditation for the Tenth Annual Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs.
Good Health and Well-being
We strive to enhance health outcomes by advocating for access to healthcare services, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting mental health initiatives. Our key strategy for meeting Good Health and Well-being will be to reduce adolescent pregnancy (which is strongly linked to gender equality), provide better data for all women and girls, and achieve universal coverage of skilled birth attendants. We are also committed to promoting means to end the epidemics such as malaria, tuberculosis and other diseases prevailing in our coverage areas.
Quality Education
Education is the foundation of development. We work to ensure that every child and adult has access to quality education, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed for a better future. We focus on foundational learning and Rural Technical Education (RTE) to hold ourselves accountable for achieving it. We work with local authorities and state actors in promoting and delivering quality education plans and policies to rural dwellers. Our plan is to promote access to quality education in our coverage areas.
Gender Equality
We are aware of the existence of gender stereotype in our coverage area and our plan is to engage the community and public sector while educating them on the danger of gender stereotype and the effect in development. Through our programs we promote female mentorship and leadership. We are dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering all women and girls. Our programs aim to eliminate discrimination and violence, ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. Ending gender-based discrimination require laws and frameworks that promote, enforce and monitor gender equality across all areas of life. This is what we preach in our coverage area where gender discrimination is a serious problem which need to addressed.
Clean Water and Sanitation
Access to clean water and sanitation is a fundamental human right. We encourage projects that provide safe drinking water, improve sanitation facilities, and educate communities on hygiene practices. We lend our voice to talk about the lack of toilets in many communities around the country. We run a campaign on hygiene. We raise awareness about the hygiene issues in several communities through social media, school/university campaign or even a campaign in the neighborhood we operate from. We encourage people not to overuse water.
Affordable and Clean Energy
Sustainable energy is crucial for development. We support initiatives that promote the use of clean and renewable energy sources, making energy affordable and accessible to all. We work with communities and state actors in promoting enabling environment for investors to Invest in solar, wind and thermal power, improving energy productivity, and ensuring energy for all is vital if we are to achieve Affordable and Clean Energy by 2030. We promote expansion of infrastructure and upgrading technology to provide clean and more efficient energy in all communities to encourage growth and help the environment.
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
We make deliberate efforts to restore trust and legitimacy and to strengthen the capacity of institutions to secure justice for all and facilitate peaceful transitions to sustainable development. Our team of conflict resolution experts and peace builders put in all their expertise in any area we cover. We believe that meaningful development cannot be achieved in an environment that lack peace, security and a good justice system. We advocate for peaceful and inclusive societies free from illicit products, providing support for justice and security and building strong institutions that uphold human rights and the rule of law.
Sustainable Cities and Communities
Our goal is to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. We focus on urban development projects that enhance the quality of life and promote environmental sustainability. We achieve this through research and development, and via promotion of deployment of products and services that improve access to resilient buildings, transport, green spaces, and utilities including electricity, water, and waste management services.
Revitalizing Global Partnership for SDG's
We believe in the power of collaboration. By strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing global partnerships, we work together with stakeholders to achieve sustainable development goals. Achieving the ambitious targets of the 2030 Agenda requires a revitalized and enhanced global partnership that brings together Governments, civil society, the private sector, the United Nations system and other actors, mobilizing all available resources hence why we serve as a hub and platform where the aforementioned can come together to make the change the world requires.

How we’re changing our world
CIA facilitates and promotes the contribution of stakeholders from different sectors at the global level, national and local level including at special events at the rural level, high-level political forum and at global conferences and events related to sustainable development.
CIA also develops publications and other research materials and tools and provides capacity building opportunities for national governments and stakeholders to support knowledge exchange, identify good practices and to strengthen stakeholders’ engagement in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
