HUMANITARIAN HUB FOR COMMUNITY IMPACT AFFINITY (CIA) CHAIRMAN, AMB. WILSON BABANGIDA AGBOTI, PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO FORMER PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO AND THE OLOWU OF OWU KINGDOM, REAFFIRMS CIA’S COMMITMENT TO PROMOTING PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONG INSTITUTIONS (SDG 16)

As part of the ongoing efforts of Community Impact Affinity (CIA) to promote Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16) across Nigeria, the Founding Chairman of CIA, Ambassador Wilson Babangida Agboti, mwcp, on 22nd November 2025, undertook a strategic courtesy visit to two eminent leaders in Ogun State, Nigeria.

Amb. Agboti first visited His Excellency, Chief General Olusegun Obasanjo (Rtd), former President and Head of State, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta. The visit was aimed at seeking knowledge, wisdom, and deep insights into the Nigerian governance ecosystem and conflict-resolution dynamics as part of CIA’s plan to strengthen its interventions in peacebuilding and institutional development.

During the engagement, Amb. Agboti highlighted CIA’s mission to champion sustainable development, national cohesion, and community resilience, emphasizing the role of credible leadership and informed advocacy in achieving SDG 16. He expressed profound gratitude to the former President for the warm reception and invaluable gifts presented to him by the former President.

Following this high-level engagement, Amb. Agboti proceeded to the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Owu Kingdom, Prof. Amb. Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, who also serves as CIA’s Global Ambassador on SDGs 16 and 17. The meeting reinforced CIA’s commitment to traditional institutions as strategic partners in peacebuilding, cultural preservation, and sustainable community development.

Amb. Agboti conveyed deep appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Olowu of Owu Kingdom and noted that the visit enriched his understanding of the culture, heritage, and traditions of the Yorubas, particularly the Egbas.

As part of the weekend’s activities, Amb. Agboti also attended the coronation ceremony of Amb. Dr. Otunba Adejare Adegbenro as the Olori Omoba Akinale Owu Kingdom and Asiwaju Jagunmolu Egba. He congratulated Otunba Adegbenro and prayed for his continued success, acknowledging his pivotal role in facilitating the high-level engagements and supporting CIA’s pursuit of sustainable development in Nigeria.
